Thunder Bay city council will be sitting for its first regular meeting in Monday evening.
Councillors will have much to go over, including a report on the costs of a possible 2021 Canada Summer Games bid.
A staff report suggests the full cost of hosting the Canada Games could be in excess of $3 million, including $350,000 for the bidding process alone.
However, the report adds that the economic impact of hosting the games could still be significant.
The Thunder Bolts Swim club will also be coming to council, to ask for relief on debts related to use of the Canada Games Complex.
The club incurred the debt when fees for the complex were increased in 2010.
Since then, the club has struggled to pay down both the original debt, and interest accrued.
