THUNDER BAY -- City councillors will be talking climate change and crime when they meet for a regular scheduled meeting at city hall tonight.

The Climate Adaptation Strategy, adopted last year, is meant to help the city deal with climate change.

Part of that is done through changing decision-making processes to include climate change considerations.

But it also includes concrete projects, like bioswales and other similar low-impact developments around the city.

Climate change coordinator Curniss McGoldrick says several have already been installed, though you may not recognize them.

Meanwhile the city's Crime Prevention Council will also be delivering a Snapshot in Time report.

The report outlines both crime trends in the city and the factors affecting crime.

Overall, despite a relatively high crime rate compared to the rest of Canada, rates for violent crime and youth crime in Thunder Bay are both down.
