Local cyclists will be riding around city hall leading up to Monday evening’s city council meeting.

The rally is to show support for the municipal bike lanes, which continues to be a controversial topic at council chambers. Recently, a number of councillors have expressed concern about some of the bike lanes and some have even called for their removal.

A rally in support of the active transportation routes will be held at 5:30 p.m.
Council is expected to vote on adding five new dedicated bike lanes to the city's network.

Engineering will also report on some of the areas of concern along Victoria Avenue.

Meanwhile, administration says there has been a significant decrease in cyclist collisions since the bike lanes were installed.

At least three members of the public are slated to speak out about the lanes.

In other business, the transit master plan will come to council for approval.

The plan has not yet been shared with the public but includes a direction to establish a new terminal somewhere in the Intercity area.
