Thunder Bay residents are still waiting for money to help replace items lost in last year's flood disaster.
But they should soon have a better idea of when those funds will arrive.
It's been months since the application process for the Disaster Relief Program closed, and committee members will be in front of city councillors tonight to provide an update on the settlements.
More than $1.5 million was raised for the Disaster Relief Fund. Members of the Disaster Relief Committee feel that is enough money to pay out the maximum amount to those who qualify.
The bad news for some may be that the funding that people will receive is based on what the government says items are worth.
Council will also get an update on the city's Safe Homes program during Monday evening’s meeting at city hall.
It was put in place to immediately assist flood victims to make their homes safe from a health perspective.
The total cost so far is $4.1 million.
A report states more than half of that went to disinfection and clean-up, and helped prevent a public health and safety crisis.
