THUNDER BAY -- City Council is back in session Monday night, after a three-week winter break.
The agenda is heavy, and looks to prepare council ahead of a tough budget season.
City Manager Tim Commisso is expected to deliver an update on MPAC assessment changes affecting Thunder Bay.
The city faces millions in lost tax revenue due to several re-assessments made by the provincial corporation.
Some of the changes include reclassifying grain elevators as commercial buildings, and allowing certain buildings to factor industrial output into their tax assessment.
Council will also receive the first report on a proposed 20 year wastewater system financial plan.
The report advises a hike in sewer surcharge rates, from 75 per cent to 90 per cent, to help finance the city's wastewater system.
