THUNDER BAY -- A special ceremony is slated for Thunder Bay City Hall Monday evening.

Tonight marks the start of a new term of office for Council.  And the new beginning also brings some new faces to the group.

Monday night’s meeting will consist chiefly of the swearing in of the new council. This will be the first term for rookie Northwood councillor Shelby Ch'ng.

Ch'ng is a small business owner and community activist. She campaigned heavily through social media, and knocked on nearly 5,000 doors during her successful campaign.

This also marks a return for Frank Pullia, who has previously served as a councillor-at-large.

The former two-term councillor and business consultant has remained involved in municipal affairs since leaving office.

After being sworn in, council will also select Acting Mayors for each month until November of next year.
