THUNDER BAY -- The County Park Library could be on the move, although it may only be to another location within the mall.
The Thunder Bay Public Library Board was in front of City Councillors last night during budget deliberations. The Board is currently leasing a location in the County Park Mall at a cost of $104,000 a year.
Chief Librarian John Pateman says the lease is set to expire this October.
There were some concerns about the amount of money the lease is costing the city. Pateman says it gives the Board flexibility in the future and the length of any new lease signed will be a critical factor.
The County Park Branch has long been identified as needing a facility renewal and was second in line behind Mary J L Black.
The long term capital forecast for Branch development includes $8.7 million in 2020 through 2022.
