THUNDER BAY – A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared again at Hogarth Riverview Manor.

According to the Thunder Bay District Health unit, the outbreak, the second declared at the long-term care facility, is on the sixth floor in the Rose and Tulip resident home area and resulted from a staff member who was recently confirmed to have contracted  COVID-19.

Under provincial guidelines, that’s enough to declare an outbreak, which allows staff at the facility to take action, including increased infection prevention and control practices.

A full assessment of Hogarth Riverview Manor will be conducted and further measures will be taken as deemed necessary.

The previous outbreak was declared on Jan. 12 on the fourth floor of the facility. It was declared over earlier this week.
