COVID-19 restrictions at Sioux Lookout recreational facilities

CITY OF SIOUX LOOKOUT

SIOUX Lookout, ON – In light of the evolving public health directives respecting the COVID-19 pandemic, the Municipality of Sioux Lookout wishes to provide the following updates to users and user groups of the Recreation Centre and Memorial Arena:

Recreation Centre Hours of operation: 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekends.

Recreation Centre restrictions and/or changes include:
  • Weight room - Maximum five people, when working out; users must keep three meters (nine feet) apart; certain machines have been roped off in order to help ensure physical distancing.
  • Cardio Room – Maximum four people, when working out; users must keep three meters (nine feet) apart; certain machines have been roped off in order to help ensure physical distancing.
  • Treadmill room – Maximum three people, when working out; users must keep three meters (nine feet) apart; certain machines have been roped off in order to help ensure physical distancing.
  • Walking Track – maximum four people.
  • Seniors Pickle Ball – no changes.
  • Tennis – Maximum eight people.
  • Squash – no changes.
  • Gymnastics – no change

Appointments are required for the various programs and services listed above. Bookings can be made up to seven days in advance, and will be accommodated on a “first come, first served” basis. All bookings will have a one-hour slot. Please call the Recreation Centre to book your slot: 807.737.1994.

Memorial Arena
Programs run from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
No new changes to any programs, except:
  • Dressing room occupancy: number of occupants has been reduced to 10 persons per room; additional dressing rooms are being made available to offset the reduction in number of persons per dressing room at any one time.
  • The Public Skating program has been reduced to 30 individuals on the ice, to accommodate the dressing rooms’ lower occupancy limits.
