COVID outbreak at Chartwell Isabella retirement residence

There are nine publicly-disclosed COVID outbreaks in high-risk settings across the district.

THUNDER BAY — An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at a Thunder Bay retirement home.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit announced the outbreak Monday at the Chartwell Isabella Retirement Residence on Isabella Street East.

Details about the extent of the outbreak were not provided.

TBDHU said it has initiated a thorough assessment of the situation, and that further measures will be taken as needed to manage the situation.

There are currently eight other publicly-disclosed COVID outbreaks in high-risk settings in the district. 

The health unit declared outbreaks at Pioneer Ridge Plaza 1 and Hogarth Riverview Manor 4N to be over as of Monday morning.
