THUNDER BAY – A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared over at Hogarth Riverview Manor, leaving one remaining active outbreak at the long-term care home.

An outbreak in the first-floor Birch Grove area, first declared on May 13, is no longer considered active, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported Wednesday.

The health unit is still tracking one outbreak of COVID-19 at Hogarth in the 4S resident area.

At one point in late April and early May, the Northwood-area facility was facing COVID outbreaks in four separate areas simultaneously.

The severity of those outbreaks isn’t clear. St. Joseph’s Care Group, which operates the home, has refused to share details on the number of cases, and whether the outbreaks resulted in any hospitalizations or deaths.
