COVID outbreak ends at Chartwell Arundel retirement residence

There are still seven active outbreaks in other high-risk settings in the district.

THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at a major city retirement facility to be over.

The outbreak at Chartwell Thunder Bay retirement residence on Arundel Street was resolved as of Tuesday morning, according to a TBDHU news release.

It began on Feb. 14, 2022.

Active COVID outbreaks continue in seven other other high-risk settings in Thunder Bay district.

TBDHU has publicly disclosed two of these locations.

They are the male side of the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre on Highway 61 (declared Mar. 2) and 5 South at St. Joseph's Hospital (declared Mar. 7).
