Crash kills one near Kenora

Another person was airlifted to Winnipeg for treatment of serious injuries, three more treated in Kenora hospital.

KENORA -- Ontario Provincial Police say they are investigating a fatal head-on collision in the Kenora area. 

Police on Monday said the crash, between a pick-up truck and a passenger vehicle, took place at about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday night, closing the highway in both directions for several hours. 

One person, in the passenger vehicle, died as a result of the collision and another person was airlifted to hospital in Winnipeg for treatment of serious injuries. Three others were treated for their injuries in hospital in Kenora. 

The crash occurred on Highway 17, near Longbow Lake.
