THUNDER BAY – City police responded to more than 228 criminal incidents during the week of Monday, March 28 through Sunday, April 3.
Thunder Bay Police Service statistics are made available through crimereports.com, a website that tracks reported crime via information provided by local police services.
According to this week’s report, local police officers handled a total of 16 cases involving weapons. Police investigated another 19 break and enters and 27 assault cases.
The more than 228 incidents reported last week is an estimate and does not include traffic cases.
South of the Harbour Expressway, city police responded to 140 reported crimes. Some of the more serious incidents included:
• 19 Assaults
• 13 Break and enter
• 22 Thefts
• 1 sexual assaults
• 2 Thefts of vehicles
• 7 Weapons
Meanwhile, north of the Harbour Expressway, officers responded to more than 88 criminal reports.
Some of the more serious incidents reported include:
• 8 Assaults
• 6 Break and enters
• 1 Sexual assault
• 1 robbery
• 10 Thefts
• 1 Theft of vehicles
• 9 Weapons charges
The vast majority of cases city police responded to were listed as either liquor, disorder and property crime.
