THUNDER BAY – City police responded to more than 169 criminal incidents during the week of Monday, March 21 through Sunday, March 27.
Thunder Bay Police Service statistics are made available through crimereports.com, a website that tracks reported crime via information provided by local police services.
This week’s report shows police dealt with a total of eight weapons incidents, and began three new sexual assault investigations. While there were only a pair of reported robberies, police did investigate 16 reports of break and enter and about 20 thefts.
The more than 169 incidents reported last week is an estimate and does not include traffic cases.
South of the Harbour Expressway, city police responded to 103 reported crimes. Some of the more serious incidents included:
• 13 Assaults
• 11 Break and enter
• 1 robbery
• 6 Thefts
• 2 sexual assaults
• 6 Thefts from vehicles
• 1 Thefts of vehicles
• 6 Weapons charges
Meanwhile, north of the Harbour Expressway, officers responded to more than 88 criminal reports.
Some of the more serious incidents reported include:
• 17 Assaults
• 4 Break and enters
• 12 Thefts
• 2 Theft from vehicles
• 2 Theft of vehicles
• 1 Weapons charges
The vast majority of cases city police responded to were listed as either liquor, disorder and property crime.
