THUNDER BAY – The city’s crime prevention council met this past week to review strategies with its ever-growing membership.
A few presentations were held at the meeting, and the Thunder Bay Police Service sent a member of its cybercrimes unit to explain what they're doing to make the Internet a safer place.
The Eye on the Street program had an updated report on its progress, and the crime prevention through environmental design program, which began last year, was also discussed.
A police officer from Windsor visited the city to look at certain deficiencies in the downtown south core, and created a list of improvements, which the crime council has already begun working on.
The audit conducted by the Windsor officer also touched on increased lighting in the south core, which the council will now look into.
