Crowe to seek NDP nomination in Thunder Bay-Superior North

The provincial NDP now has multiple candidates in Thunder Bay-Superior North.
The provincial NDP now has multiple candidates in Thunder Bay-Superior North.

Cindy Crowe, who failed in her bid to win a seat on city council last October, says in a published report that she was recently approved by the party's provincial secretary and will take on incumbent Liberal Michael Gravelle, the minister of northern development, mines and forestry in the upcoming provincial election next fall, should she win the nomination.

She'll face off against Jay Stapleton, who lost municpally to incumbent Red River Coun. Brian McKinnon in October, in Thunder Bay-Superior North, and possibly two others who have filed but aren't ready to announce publicly.

The riding nomination meeting is scheduled for Saturday, April 2 at the Prince Arthur Hotel. A regional meeting will be held the day before at a yet-to-be-disclosed location.

A consultant by trade, Crowe, 51, says she is committed to bringing jobs to the region and building relationships.
