THUNDER BAY — When Thunder Bay Police received a report Sunday night of a man riding a bicycle and carrying a chainsaw, officers were initially dispatched to deal with a "weapons" incident.

As it turned out, the chainsaw was not being used as a weapon.

However, neither the machine nor the bicycle belonged to the man.

Investigating officers were sent to the Algoma Street and Ambrose Street area, then located him on Secord Street.

They determined he had not threatened anyone.

The man said he had found the chainsaw and the bike in a nearby alley.

Police seized both items and released him without laying charges.
