A popular Aboriginal festival in Thunder Bay has been expanded from a one day event to four days of festivities.
Details about the Animkii Festival were announced Friday by organizers with the new Aboriginal Arts and Heritage Group. The festival will run from Oct. 13 until Oct. 16 at the CLE Coliseum.
The first day of the festival will feature the original even in its entirety, which features a fall feast and a gathering of services.
The other events include a crafters market, a fashion show, a concert and entertainment series, featuring artists such as singer Shyanne Hovorka, and a competition powwow.
Organizers said they expect people will come from all over North America to participate in the arts and cultural activities.
