THUNDER BAY— The City of Thunder Bay has extended the deadline for its property tax and water credit program for low-income seniors, low-income persons with disabilities, and low-income homeowners.

The new application deadline is September 2, providing additional time for eligible residents to apply for financial assistance, said city officials.

The original deadline was previously set for July 31.

City officials said the deadline has been extended due to the shorter-than-usual time frame between the mailing of final property tax bills and the original program deadline.

Final property tax bills were sent out later than usual this year due to additional time required to finalize the city’s 2025 tax rates, said city officials.

The updated deadline ensures that all eligible residents have a fair opportunity to apply.

Full program details, including eligibility requirements and application forms, are available online or by contacting the Revenue office at 807-625-2255.
