Deadly blaze kills 1 in Scoble Township

Scene being held until the Ontario Fire Marshall arrives.

SCOBLE TOWNSHIP, Ont. – One person is dead after a fire tore through a Highway 608 residence in Scoble Township.

Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued on Tuesday morning, said Neebing Fire Service responded to the call at about 10:22 p.m. on Monday night and arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames.

One person, who isn’t being identified pending notification of next of kin, was found dead inside the home.

The scene is being held until the arrival of the Ontario Fire Marshal.

The investigation is continuing, with the assistance of the OPP Northwest Region crime centre and the OPP forensic identification unit.
