THUNDER BAY — The number of lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Thunder Bay district fell to 74 over the weekend.

This was 16 fewer than the number of active cases on Friday.

The active case count is not considered a reliable indicator of viral activity due to a lack of access to molecular testing for the general population.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported that the number of patients with COVID who are currently in area hospitals remained at 22, including two cases in intensive care.

These figures were unchanged from Friday.

There is currently one COVID-19 outbreak in a high-risk setting in the district.
