Disturbance call results in crystal meth, gun seizure

Officers recover suspected crystal methamphetamine with expected street value of $13,000 and loaded semi-automatic handgun.

THUNDER BAY –  A disturbance at a Moore Avenue home led to city police seizing a loaded gun and a quantity of what is suspected to be crystal meth.

Thunder Bay police were called to the home just after 1 a.m. on March 15 with the subsequent investigation leading to officers arresting 29-year-old man found in possession of narcotics and a subsequent search warrant.

Police seized drugs believed to be crystal methamphetamine, which would have an expected street value of more than $13,000. A loaded semi-automatic handgun was also recovered.

Abednego Ricardo Wynn, from Sarnia, Ont., faces a number of drug trafficking and firearms-related charges.

Wynn appeared in court on Friday and has been remanded into custody with a future court date.
