THUNDER BAY – The City of Thunder Bay is excited to announce that DJ Shub, formerly of A Tribe Called Red, will be featured in a free public concert as part of Culture Days.
The show will be presented in the Mattawa First Nations Management parking lot near the corner of John St. and Court St. on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. This performance is part of Culture Days that will also be within the Open Streets event.
DJ Shub is a title earning DJ, award-winning producer and devoted family man from Six Nations of the Grand River. His awards and accomplishments include a Juno Award (with A Tribe Called Red), a Canadian Organization of Campus Activities DJ of the Year title, a Much Music Video Award nomination, two DMC Canada DJ Championship titles, a DMC Canadian Battle for Supremacy title, a Canadian Red Bull Thre3style title and a King of the Dot Canada vs. USA DJ battle win. His PowWowStep EP was released Dec. 2, 2016, and has earned critical acclaim, including an Indigenous Music Award for Best Instrumental Album in May of 2017. The show will also feature professional dancers and an interactive art activity.

Culture Days is Canada’s national celebration of arts and culture, providing behind-the-scenes access to local arts, culture and heritage, Sept.29 to Oct. 1.
