THUNDER BAY -- A hold and secure procedure was implemented at two local elementary schools this week after an alleged incident of domestic violence.
Thunder Bay Police Service issued a news release Friday afternoon stating they are trying to locate a male suspect in connection with a domestic incident that occurred on Feb. 1.
The suspect will be facing charges related to the incident, which happened off of school property.
Lakehead Public Schools decided to implement the hold and secure procedure as a precautionary measure. They had safety concerns related to the alleged domestic violence incident that involved parents of students at the two schools.
Although social media postings have been made about the suspect, the police have not released his identity to protect the privacy of both the victim and children involved.
The investigation continues.
