THUNDER BAY – The annual dragon boat festival will take place at Boulevard Lake this year after all.
The postponement of construction work at Boulevard Lake means the Freight Managers Family of Dragons event will take place at the north-side recreational area on July 18.
Organizers previously said work, which includes draining the lake, would result in the event being moved for the first time in its history with McKellar Island selected as the location.
Teams of 20 paddlers and one drummer can still sign up this weekend at the Lakehead Canoe Club’s display at the Intercity Shopping Centre this weekend.
Organizers are also seeking event volunteers.
