THUNDER BAY – A driver has been charged after a set of traffic lights at Red River Road and the Thunder Bay Expressway was damaged Saturday evening.
The Ontario Provincial Police say they responded to the incident around 7 p.m. Saturday. An investigation resulted in a charge of making an improper right turn for the driver involved in the incident.
The OPP could not offer further details on the incident Sunday morning.
Traffic lights at the northwest corner of the intersection were hit with enough force to knock them onto the roadway, blocking one lane of traffic.
The lights were replaced and operational by Sunday morning, with normal traffic flow restored.
