Driver charged after Shuniah crash

Driver was not injured but vehicle sustained extensive damage after hitting guard rails and going into ditch.

SHUNIAH, ON --  A woman was not injured but is facing a Highway Traffic Act charge after her vehicle went off Highway 11/17 in Shuniah.

Provincial police said at about 10 a.m. Tuesday, a westbound driver on the Trans-Canada Highway crossed over to the inside lane, struck several guide rails and ended up in the south ditch.

Responding OPP officers found the female driver was uninjured but the vehicle sustained extensive damage.

The driver has been charged with making an unsafe move into a lane or shoulder contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
