Thunder Bay Police Service media release follows:
Police, Fire, EMS and Thunder Bay Hydro were all called to the scene of a single motor vehicle collision at 6:51 this (Monday, 21 March, 2016) morning.
A blue Chevrolet pickup truck being driven eastbound by a 63 year old male driver went out of control and struck a utility pole on the north side of Walsh St just west of the Beaverhall Place intersection.There was extensive damage to the pick-up truck and the utility pole was snapped.
Power was out for a large portion of Westfort for a couple hours. The male driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to T.B.R.H.S.C. by ambulance.
Investigation has revealed that the vehicle was being driven blindly with windows that were completely frosted over.
The driver has been charged with Careless Driving.
