Police have now laid charges following a two vehicle head-on collision that took place on Mapleward Road Wednesday afternoon.
Just before 4 p.m., two vehicles collided on Mapleward Road near Government Road. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and ended up in the ditch.
Three people were sent to hospital with minor injuries.
Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say the driver of a Black SUV, a 19-year-old woman, has been charged with careless driving.
Police say she was distracted at the time of the crash, but no other details are being released at this time.
