A North Bay man involved in a weekend crash on Highway 17 has died.
Officials with the Schreiber detachment of the OPP say officers responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Saturday around 6 a.m. in the Township of Wiggins, west of Pays Plat First Nation.
The driver of a car travelling east left the roadway and struck numerous guard posts on the south shoulder before coming to a stop.
Police have identified the male driver as George Brough, 76, of North Bay.
He was transported by ambulance to McCausland Hospital in Terrace Bay where he was pronounced dead.
A post mortem examination is scheduled to take place the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal collision.
