FORT FRANCES, Ont. -- Provincial police have laid impaired driving charges two years after a fatal single-vehicle crash in the Rainy River District claimed the life of a 25-year-old Fort Frances woman.
The OPP on Friday announced 28-year-old Skye Blackburde of Fort Frances is charged with causing death by criminal negligence, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death and having a blood alcohol content of more than 0.08 causing an accident with a fatality.
The crash happened on May 15, 2016 on Development Road in Chapple Township when the vehicle went into the ditch and struck a hydro pole. Jourdain had been a passenger in the car, police said.
The accused appeared in Fort Frances court on Friday. The charges have not been proven in court.
