THUNDER BAY -- Police have charged a 78-year-old driver with careless driving following a Sunday crash on Chippewa road.
Thunder Bay Police Service investigators say the crash took place on Nov. 30 at about 3:45 p.m. on Chippewa road between Mountain Road and James Street
A pickup truck had left the roadway and struck a pole. That pole had only recently been replaced as it was coincidentally the exact location of another crash days earlier.
The only occupant of the vehicle involved was the 78-year-old man who was driving it.
The Thunder Bay resident was not injured as a result of the crash, but the road was closed for several hours while repairs were being made.
