Thunder Bay Police have arrested an alleged drug dealer after executing a search warrant on Tuesday at a Piccadilly Avenue residence.

In a release issued on Wednesday, police say they seized approximately $10,000 in narcotics in the raid, including cocaine, hydromorphone and oxycodone pills.

They also seized about $30,000 in cash.

Fifty-eight-year-old Grant McMuldroch faces three counts of drug trafficking and possession of proceeds over $5,000.

The suspect has been remanded to the Thunder Bay District Jail.

Police say the residence, located in the 400 block the north-side street, was about 200 metres from an elementary school.

Alleged drug dealers profiting off the back of people in neighbourhoods like these cannot be tolerated, a police spokesman said.

“The issues these drug dealers bring to neighbourhoods cannot be understated, rest assured we will continue to actively investigate drug trafficking in order to reduce the resulting crime and social disorder it brings to our community,” said Staff Sgt. Ryan Gibson in the release.
