A dump truck driver forgot to look for overhead wires before moving the truck with the box up and has knocked the power out for some residences in the area.
Police, Fire and Hydro are on scene. There were a few sparks before the power was cut. There were no injuries.
Traffic is still moving on Oliver Road, but may need to be shut briefly while repairs are being done. Police are advising motorists to please avoid that route if possible.
Hydro estimates about 1,000 customers aer without power. The outage spans from Oliver Road at Belrose Road to Mapleward Road; John Street Road from Valley Street to Community Hall Road.
