Just as people are flooding to the beach seeking relief from the heat, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit has been forced to post swimming advisories at three popular swimming areas.

Warnings were posted Tuesday afternoon for Chippewa Park’s main beach, and Boulevard Lake's Lakeview and Sunnyside Beach.

The postings come following water sampling that turned up higher than acceptable levels of E. coli bacteria.

The Health Unit tests area beaches daily from June through August.
