The latest report from the Conference Board of Canada points to an improving economic picture for Thunder Bay.
In its summer outlook for metropolitan centres across the country, the Conference Board predicts an increase in Gross Domestic Product for the city of 1.9 per cent this year.
The positive projection is based on a variety of factors, including the new GO Transit contract for Bombardier and increased volumes and traffic through the local port.
The report also states that improved economic activity should result in employment growth of about 4.4-percent this year.
