An Edmonton man is behind bars after police recovered a pair of stolen vehicles in Northwestern Ontario.

In a release issued on Thursday, Ontario Provincial Police said on Oct. 20 they attempted to stop a driver believed to be behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle on Highway 17 in Ignace Township.

The driver failed to stop for police and police lost sight of the vehicle, which was late located on a side road near English River.
At the time police also recovered a piece of identification believed to belong to the suspect.

Then on Wednesday police from Upsala, Ignace and Thunder Bay responded a report of another stolen vehicle in the English River area.
After a short search the vehicle and suspect were located on a bush road west of Upsala.

A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession property obtained by crime over $5,000 and theft of a motor vehicle.
He’s been remanded into custody at the Thunder Bay District Jail.
