THUNDER BAY – Everyone is safe and it should be business as usual soon for a south-side grocery store that was evacuated Wednesday morning.

About 18 firefighters from Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue responded to the Metro an Arthur and James Street just before 10 a.m.

The store had been evacuated after reports of a burning smell coming from the store’s roof. That came after a short power outage.

Firefighters were able to determine that the source of the burning smell was a minor electrical issue.

A bit of smoke on the roof led to an evacuation as a precaution.

There was no danger to anybody in the buidling," Dan Hyvarinen said.

Fire officials say maintenance crews are on scene and everything should be back to normal soon.
