THUNDER BAY – Emergency preparedness will be put to the test on Thursday at Thunder Bay International Airport.

According to a release issued on Wednesday afternoon, exercises will take place between noon and 4 p.m., but flights and other airport operations will not be impacted.

About half a dozen agencies, in addition to the airport, will be involved in the mock emergency, which will allow all parties to test their response capability and communication with other partners taking part in the exercises.

“Our first and primary goal in any exercise or emergency response is safety for first responders and in the case of this exercise, participants and those observing the exercise,” the release states.

No further details will be released prior to the test.
