Emergency responders rescue man from river

Man rescued after jumping into McIntyre River on Friday night.

THUNDER BAY – A man who jumped into the McIntyre River Friday night was not injured after being rescued by emergency responders.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were called to the river at May Street just after 10 p.m. where the man jumped into the water on his own volition, according to a police news release.

The officers, with assistance from Thunder Bay Fire Rescue firefighters and Superior North EMS paramedics, used rescue equipment to remove the man from the river.
