EMS building mostly on schedule despite spring temperatures

Thunder Bay's new Emergency Medical Services building is starting to take shape, as construction continues on Junot Avenue.

Thunder Bay's new Emergency Medical Services building is starting to take shape, as construction continues on Junot Avenue.

Superior North EMS Chief Norm Gale said construction is only slightly behind schedule, due to cool spring temperatures causing minor delays.

The new facility will house a paramedic station, as well as administration and training facilities. It will be the largest EMS facility in the Northwest region. Gale said city residents will soon see the shell of the facility going up.

Construction will continue on the EMS building for the duration of the year. The facility should be ready for service in February of 2012.
