THUNDER BAY – While the flood outlook will remain until Friday, Environment Canada has officially lifted its heavy rain special weather statement for the City of Thunder Bay.

The special weather statement was issued Tuesday afternoon when big rain storms were expected at one time to bring as much as 50 millimetres of rain.

That forecast led to the Ministry of Natural Resources issuing a flood outlook for this city and much of the district.

The special weather statement remained in effect for the city for much of Wednesday, but was officially cancelled by Thursday morning.

As of 8 a.m., there were no weather alerts or statements for the City of Thunder Bay.
