It appears elementary teachers in Thunder Bay will continue to refrain from extra-curricular activities.
Officials with the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario says the union won't ask members to resume voluntary activities, like sports and clubs.
Local Collective Bargaining Officer Mike Judge said he remains hopeful.
“It’s been a very welcomed turnaround with the discussions that have taken place with Premier (Kathleen) Wynne’s new government,” Judge said during an interview with CKPR Radio Friday morning.
“We are very pleased with the direction that things are going and we are hoping that a positive agreement can be reached in the near future”
Teachers withdrew voluntary duties to protest the Liberals' use of controversial legislation to impose contracts back in January.
