THUNDER BAY -- A bitterly cold month is showing no signs of letting up.
Environment Canada issued an extreme cold warning for the city of Thunder Bay shortly before 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning, forecasting a combination of cold temperatures and moderate winds that could create wind chills below - 40C.
The national weather service is advising people to dress appropriately for the weather if going outside. That includes dressing in layers and covering exposed skin.
Environment Canada is also warning people to be on the lookout for cold-related health symptoms. Those include shortness of breath, changing colour of fingers and toes, numbness, chest pains and arrythmias.
After a brief warmup on Sunday afternoon, the frigid temperatures are expected to continue Sunday night into Monday morning.
