Fall into winter

A local fall and winter show could use some lousy weather.

It’s hard to think about snow blowers when the sun is shining. More than 200 booths were sprawled around the Sports Dome Saturday afternoon featuring the latest in winter products from storm windows to fire places. And while organizers were hoping for 10,000 people this weekend, the sunny 16 C weather wasn’t cooperating.

“I think everybody’s in their backyard,” Fall into Winter Show co-chair Judy Anderson said. “Being so nice and warm I’d say is against us.”

There was a steady stream of people there, just not as many as the second-year show had hoped for. For the first time this year, the show teamed up with the Go Green Expo. Anderson said it’s great way for the two events to grow together.

“Now we have a full building this year.”

Along with the vendors, several charities were also at the show including Christmas Cheer. People are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items with them for the campaign. The show continues Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
