Brandon Doner felt like a champion strutting out of the world’s largest snow maze Sunday.

The 12-year-old had joined the dozens of families Sunday morning for Day 2 of the Fort William Historical Park’s Voyageur Winter Carnival.

The annual Family Day long weekend event features a number of activities, including the signature snow maze that last year found its way into the Guinness Book of World Records.

"I was scared, and nervous that I would never get out," the youngster admitted after exiting the maze. "I want to go see the baby animals next, and maybe go do the musket shots."

Brandon added that he seemed to be walking in circles before finally finding the right route.

By the time he exited, looking much more confident than he went in, he had spent a bit more than 15 minutes flanked by walls of snow.

Not everyone could complete the maze in as little as 15 minutes.

Fourteen-year-old Cassidy Jacobson and her friends spent at least 20 minutes trying to find their way out of the snow maze.

"It was really hard," Cassidy said. "It was a little scary, I felt like I was alone."

There are plenty of winter activities to choose from at this years' Winter Carnival, helicopter rides, tubing, sleigh rides, skating, games contest and so much more. The Winter Carnival will wrap up on Monday with activities running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
