THUNDER BAY -- It seems even Mother Nature enjoys the Teddy Bears' Picnic.
The city's plan, should the event that draws more than 3,000 people and their favourite stuffed animal see some inclement weather, is to head to the nearby Delany Arena.
But city event supervisor Dave Mossman said it's been at least a decade since the picnic and parade, now in its 33 rd year, has had to head indoors.
Tuesday looked to continue that trend as Vickers Park was stuffed with revelers looking to take in the festivities.
"Face-painting, inflatables, we have different community groups that come out and provide different activities," Mossman said.
"It's the biggest event for kids."
Parents who came to the picnic as children are now bringing their children. Mossman said he's even seen some of those parents with stuffed animals of their own.
"It's a great opportunity for kids and parents to enjoy themselves," he said.
