The Friends of Chippewa Park, who will be hosting Family Fest 101 at the park this summer from July 28 to Aug. 1 have announced that registration is now open for volunteers and vendors.

Cathy Sawicki, coordinator of volunteers, noted that over 200 volunteers are needed . “Volunteers are essential for the efficient running of the festival and their involvement will only enhance the experience of the thousands of individuals expected to attend,” Sawicki said.

A total of 15 different volunteer positions are available, with shifts ranging from four to eight hours. Some positions require significant time on the volunteer’s feet while others are primarily seated positions. Functions range from traffic control and selling raffle tickets to serving beverages and keeping areas clean and free from litter.

Registration is also open for vendors. There are separate registration pages for food vendors and for merchandise vendors.

“With thousands expected to attend Family Fest 101 over the five days, it is a great opportunity for food vendors to serve the attendees,” said Festival Co-Chair, Linda Lafontaine. “It is also important that those attending have the opportunity to sample some of the great food produced in Thunder Bay.”

Information on all opportunities along with the individual registration forms are available at www.chippewapark.ca
