Festa Italiana returning this weekend

The Italian cultural festival has been running for 34 years.

THUNDER BAY — The 34th annual Festa Italiana is back this weekend.

Festa will take over the parking lot at the Italian Cultural Centre on Algoma Street. Festa-goers can expect the usual delicious foods like elephant ears, gnocchi and more.

The Italian Society of Port Arthur hosts the event, and it has again partnered with the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation to give away a $3,000 travel gift card.

Matt Pascuzzo, the public relations chair for the society, said the entertainment is always a big draw.

"It's a pretty big lineup. We have Viva playing and the Sensational Hot Rods again. I think everybody's looking forward to some good entertainment."

Festa Italiana will be held on Sunday, Aug. 4, and Monday, Aug. 5, from noon to 11 p.m.
